The Ost for Paradis art house at the Danish city of Aarhus will host a Middle East film day on 13 November.
The event is a joint cooperation between the Embassy of Denmark in Cairo and the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute.
Three films are to be screened during the celebration: Alexandria Why (1978) by late prominent director Youssef Chahine, Jews of Egypt (2013) by Amir Ramses and The Square (2014) by Jehane Noujaim.
The Square, the first Egyptian documentary to compete for the Academy Awards, recounts events at Tahrir Square during the 2011 uprising through the stories of a group of revolutionary youths.
Jews of Egypt, another documentary, will be accompanied by a presentation from its director, Amir Ramses. It depicts the lives of the Egyptian Jewish community in the first half of the 20th century until their exit from Egypt after the British-French-Israeli assault in 1956.
Iskindriya Leih (Alexandria Why) by winner of Commemorative Golden Jubilee of the Cannes Festival in 1997, Youssef Chahine, tells the love story of Yahia, a Muslim Egyptian and Sarah, a Jewish Egyptian on the backdrop of British colonization.
