Demonstations demand return of Egyptians detained in Libya

The families of Egyptians detained in Libya demonstrated before the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, demanding that officials intervene with the Libyan authorities to release their relatives and bring them back home.

The demonstrators tried to break the iron gate of the ministry and storm the building to meet with the minister, accusing his assistant of sluggishness in handling their problem. They said that they would not leave the place until their demands had been met.

In related news, the Libyan Transitional Council asked the Egyptian authorities to give approval for its satellite channel to broadcast via NileSat, saying the authorities have not replied to the council’s request, which was submitted in February.
