The Egyptian National Committee for UNESCO organized a visit for the representatives of the organization’s member states to the Grand Egyptian Museum, on the sidelines of the visit of delegations by 20 UNESCO member states interested in the Egyptian Knowledge Bank initiative.
The delegation began its visit to the museum by inspecting the great foyer, the great staircase, the commercial area, and the external gardens.
They also listened to an explanation about the most prominent artifacts in the museum, which will be made available to the public after its official opening, and watched a performance on Ancient Egyptian civilization.
The delegation expressed their happiness with the program that was prepared throughout their stay in Egypt and at visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour received delegations from 20 member states of UNESCO, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
During the meeting, he reviewed the importance of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank initiative and its role in improving the classification of Egyptian universities, institutions and research centers internationally.
Discussion sessions were held to transfer Egypt’s experience to the rest of the member states to benefit from and exchange.
The delegations of UNESCO member states currently visiting Egypt consist of representatives of Bahrain – Uruguay – China – United Arab Emirates – Jordan – Bangladesh – Chile – India – Indonesia – Kenya – Lebanon – Liberia – Libya – Malaysia – Malta – Mauritius – Sultanate of Oman – Syria – Tanzania – Uganda.
