The Health Ministry announced on Monday morning the death of another Egyptian pilgrim in Saudi Arabia, raising the death toll among Egyptian Hajj pilgrims in 2018 to 51.
Doctor Mohamed Shawky, head of the Hajj medical mission, said in a press statement that the deceased was Ragab Mohamed Ismail, 61, from Sohag Governorate, adding that he died in Medina.
Ismail died from a sharp drop in blood pressure and respiration said Shawky, who noted that legal documents and measures are underway.
The medical mission for Egyptian pilgrims coordinated with the Saudi Kingdom to extract formal certificates of death.
The mission’s delegation also checked the health condition of several Egyptian pilgrims transferred to Mina Emergency Hospital for treatment.
