Deadly train crash in Egypt: Three killed, 47 injured

A collision between two trains occurred on Saturday in front of the new bridge in Zagazig, prompting the deployment of 25 ambulances to transport the injured and victims.

A medical source at the Ministry of Health and Population told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the latest updates on the train collision in Zagazig city show 47 injuries and 3 deaths.

Zagazig University Hospital treated 35 injured patients, while Al-Ahrar Teaching Hospital received 12. Two fatalities occurred at Zagazig University Hospital, and one at Al-Ahrar Teaching Hospital.

The incident began when the security services in the Eastern Governorate received a report of a train collision in front of the new bridge within the jurisdiction of the Second Police Station. Security forces and police immediately went to the scene.

The railway authority announced that a passenger train number 281, heading from Zagazig to Ismailia, collided with another passenger train number 336, heading from Mansoura to Zagazig, at block 5 in Zagazig.
