Deadly Lebanon blasts leave 4,000 injured, 11 dead

International media reported late Tuesday that an advisor to the Lebanese Health Minister announced a rise in the death toll from pager device explosions to 11, with 4,000 injured, including 400 in critical condition.

Lebanese media reported that Hiram Hospital in Tyre received over 100 injured, of whom 60 percent were discharged and 40 percent remain under treatment.

Likewise, Jabal Amal Hospital in Tyre received over 400 injured, with 80 percent discharged and 20 percent still receiving treatment.

Numerous areas in Lebanon, including Beirut and the southern suburbs, witnessed multiple explosions that injured dozens due to the detonation of communication devices carried by members of Lebanese factions on Tuesday.

According to Lebanese security sources, Israel had hacked into the communication systems and triggered the explosions.

The sources added that the communication devices that were detonated had been hacked in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, the southern suburbs, Nabatieh, the Bekaa Valley, and other areas.
