Dar Al Shifa Hospital passes GAHAR accreditation standards for primary healthcare

The Ministry of Health and Population announced that Dar Al Shifa Hospital, which is affiliated to the secretariat of specialized medical centers, passed the national accreditation standards for primary healthcare, which are applied by the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) and accredited by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

In statements on Saturday, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said Dar Al Shifa Hospital has departments for general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, obstetrics, gynecology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology), as well as a department for curing the diseases of cardiovascular, brain and nerves.

The spokesman added the hospital also provides physiotherapy and therapeutic nutrition services for patients.

On her part, Dr. Maha Ibrahim, chairperson of the secretariat of specialized medical centers, said the accreditation of Dar Al Shifa comes as part of a plan to register and authorize the rest of hospitals affiliated to the secretariat.
