Ibrahim Negm, adviser to the Grand Mufti, said Dar al-Ifta launched an international campaign in the foreign and Western media banning the use of the term “Islamic State” when referring to the terrorist group ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) and replacing it with QSIS (Qa'ida Separatists in Iraq and Syria).
Negm also said the campaign will also launch a page on Facebook and messages on Twitter in the English language that quote the opinion of leaders and scholars of Islam in various countries of the world about that terrorist organization.
He said the campaign aims to correct the image of Islam that has been distorted in the West by criminal practices that all Muslims reject.
ISIS is a Sunni organization fighting against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria and the Shias in Iraq. It was able to control several areas in the two countries, seeking to establish an Islamic caliphate.
