Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides received on Thursday Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry who is on a current visit to Nicosia.
Egypt and Cyprus have historic friendship relations and cooperation and multi framework cooperation based on common vision and interests, Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a tweet on X.
He said they also have close coordination on facing common challenges.
Shoukry arrived earlier today in Nicosia on a visit that aims at following up the track of ties between both countries and consulting on regional and international developments.
The visit comes within the framework of asserting the strategic dimension of the Egyptian-Cypriot relations and mutual keenness on boosting distinguished ties between both countries which develop at the bilateral level or via three-way cooperation mechanism including Egypt, Cyprus and Greece.
The visit also aims at coordinating stances between both sides on a number of regional and international developments. (MENA)
