Dozens of Central Security Forces conscripts in the Upper Egyptian province of Minya have protested against what they described as "harassment by Muslim Brotherhood loyalists during demonstrations."
The security personnel demonstrated outside Minya's governorate office on Wednesday.
Protesting conscripts, who have been posted at vital facilities across Minya, carried posters supporting army chief and Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, while demanding an end to "provocative marches" by Muslim Brotherhood and Mohamed Morsy supporters.
Pro-Morsy demonstrators and security forces have clashed across Egypt since the overthrow of President Mohamed Morsy by the army earlier this month.
An official source at the Interior Ministry meanwhile denied rumours circulating on Facebook that Central Security Forces had launched a hunger strike on the Cairo-Suez road.
The source stressed that soldiers are carrying out their duties as normal.
