The crew of the Russian airliner that crashed in Egypt on Saturday underwent medical tests recently and no problems were detected, Interfax news agency reported on Sunday, citing prosecutors.
"The crew underwent a medical examination before flying to Sharm el-Sheikh, and they were declared fit to fly," said Maiya Ivanova from the Volga region transport prosecutors' office.
Meanwhile, the quality of the fuel used by the Russian airliner that crashed in Egypt on Saturday, killing all 224 people on board, met all necessary requirements, Russian Volga region transport prosecutors said on Sunday, according to RIA.
Egyptian and Russian investigators will begin examining within hours the contents of the two black boxes recovered from the Russian airliner that crashed over Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on Saturday, judicial and ministerial sources said.
The sources said the examination would take place at the Civil Aviation Ministry in Cairo.
