Red Sea Criminal Court will resume on Wednesday trial of 30 suspects accused of breaking into and burning Safaga police station, smuggling inmates and stealing arms.

Court is scheduled to hear testimonies of prosecution witnesses and requests of the defense.

A fight broke out on 2 May 2012, in the city of Safaga that developed into storming and burning the police station. Six suspects are fugitive and 24 others were arrested and referred to court in July 2013.

Streets leading to the court were closed with metal barriers, causing diversion of the traffic. Dozens of central security troops were seen around the court.
