Court ruling on Gaza steel wall postponed to 28 June

An Egyptian court on Tuesday postponed issuing a ruling on a case calling for a halt to the construction of an underground steel wall along Egypt's border with Gaza.

The Egyptian government has been building the wall in order to prevent Palestinians from entering Egypt through underground tunnels, and to halt the smuggling of goods and materials between Gaza and Egypt.

The law suit was filed by several members of the public and representatives from human rights organizations, among them Ibrahim Youssry, who also filed a case to stop Egyptian gas exports to Israel.

The Administrative Court's ruling is now scheduled for 28 June.
