The Giza Criminal Court is scheduled to issue its ruling on former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly over graft charges on March 12, it announced on Saturday.
Adly was referred to court after investigations revealed he had amassed a fortune disproportionate to his sources of income, indicating that he may have used his political influence for illegal gains amounting to 181 million Egyptian pounds.
He is currently serving a five-year prison sentence on charges of wasting 92 million Egyptian pounds of public funds through irregularly procuring vehicle license plates.
The Cairo Criminal Court dropped last November the case against Egypt's former President Hosni Mubarak over complicity in the killing of protesters during the 18-day January 2011 uprising which toppled his regime.
The court also acquitted Adly and four of his aides on charges of inciting and aiding the killing of 238 protesters.
