On Sunday, Sidi Gaber Misdemeanor Court reduced the sentence issued against Egyptian activist Mahinour al-Masry to six months in prison and fined her LE50,000 for violating the protest law.
A lower court had sentenced Masry to two years in prison and a fine of LE50,000 over protesting without a license and assaulting security forces on 2 December 2013 in Alexandria.
Masry had challenged the ruling of the court of first instance and received the reduced sentence.
