Egypt's Administrative Court on Tuesday issued a ruling overturning a recent decision by Coptic Pope Shenouda III to expel a priest from the Coptic clergy.
The ruling was issued by Administrative Court head Kamal Lamei.
The priest in question, Father George Habib Bebawy, had appealed against Shenouda's decision to expel him from the Coptic Church.
Shenouda's decision followed earlier statements by Bebawy that he had joined the Anglican Church in Russia.
Bebawy claims the pope's decision "stands against the Bible's teachings."
