Coptic organizations abroad have called for "a week of anger" following violence at a Coptic protest on Sunday in central Cairo.
Twenty-four people died and 317 were injured outside Egypt's state TV building, Maspero, after a march by Coptic citizens and political party members, who protested the attack on a Coptic church in Aswan on 30 September.
"Coptic organizations abroad denounce the frequent incidents targeting religious minorities in Egypt," said Medhat Qelada, an Coptic expatriate community leader.
He also attacked the armed forces for violently confronting the Copts' peaceful protests.
He said some organizations threatened to resort to international arbitration if local authorities fail to prosecute suspects behind the events and urged the international community to send a fact-finding mission to investigate the incident.
Qelada added that other organizations described the killings as crimes against humanity, urging Western countries to sack Egyptian ambassadors to pressure Egypt to respect the rights of the Coptic minority.
