The Supreme Judicial Committee in charge of supervising Saturday's constitutional referendum guaranteed the validity of the unstamped ballots that were found at some polling stations.
The committee clarified on its official page on Facebook that some unstamped ballot papers were found by accident at some polling stations, but asserted this doesn’t nullify the votes.
The lack of a stamp, the committee added, doesn’t matter as long as the supervising judge's signature is present.
Polling stations are receiving additional ballot papers and boxes as higher-than anticipated turnout hit the stations during morning voting.
No complaints have been received, said the committee. State Security is present at the polling station and no station was opened without judicial supervision.
Citizens, according to the committee, are allowed to use their expired identity cards as proof of identification if they wish to vote.
The committee also has two landline phone numbers to receive complaints: 3335-4652 and 3749-1342.
