Agouza prosecutors have ordered the detention of a Colombian for 24 hours pending investigations from the National Security Agency after he allegedly took pictures of a police installation without permission.
The prosecutors requested National Security Agency to see if the Colombian was involved in any terrorist acts or prohibited organizations.
The suspect lived in a rental apartment that overlooked a police training center in Agouza.
Surveillance cameras allegedly filmed him while he was taking the pictures.
Picture-taking, especialy of government installations, is a sensitive issue in Egypt due to heightened fear of spying, which is encouraged by conspiracy theories propagated in the media.
