The heat wave of the past few days will subside today, weather experts are saying, advising people to not wear summer clothes for the Sham el-Naseem holiday.
Temperatures are expected to decrease from now until Sham el-Naseem, reaching 24 to 26 degrees in Cairo and the northern governorates, said meteorologist Ali Qotb. He advised people against wearing summer clothes in the afternoon of Sham el-Naseem, when weather is expected to be somewhat cold.
Meanwhile, authorities are checking hospital preparedness as well as the quality of fish, a traditional food for the holiday. A large shipment of rotten fish was seized recently, and hospitals have been supplied with appropriate antidotes for food poisoning.
