Cold weather, rainfall hit Egypt until Wednesday

Alexandria has been hit by the al-Shams al-Kaberah storm with rains and southeasterly winds as the cold winter weather returns to dominate Alexandria once more.

The Alexandria Port schedule showed that various parts of the country will be exposed to al-Shams al-Kaberah storm during the coming days from Saturday until Wednesday, with rain on the northwestern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, and active winds.

Egypt on Sunday will be exposed to a 40 percent chance of rainfall on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai, with active winds in Cairo and Lower Egypt.

The rate of rainfall will increase on Monday in the governorates of southern Upper Egypt, the Red Sea, and Sinai by up to 60 percent, growing moderate on the northern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, and Greater Cairo, with active winds in some areas.

Rainfall will continue on Tuesday at a rate of up to 30 percent in the northern coastal and northern Lower Egypt governorates accompanied by active winds.

These rainy conditions will continue until Wednesday, with light rain falling at approximately 30 percent on areas of the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt intermittently.
