Meteorologists expect cold weather on Monday in the northern parts of Egypt, and northern regions of Upper Egypt. Warmer weather is predicted in the south during daylight hours, with cold temperatures across all regions throughout the night.
Low and medium level cloud cover is predicted for the north, possibly accompanied by rain along the north coast, in Lower Egypt, Cairo, Sinai, and the Halayib and Shalateen region.
Winds are anticipated to be moderate and mostly northwesterly, they will be active along the north coast and Sinai. Winds may disrupting maritime navigation in the Mediterranean and Red seas as well as the Gulf of Suez.
Waves in the Mediterranean and Red seas will be strong and range between 2.5 to 3 meters with northwesterly surface winds.
Maximum temperatures predicted for the following cities are as follows: 18C in Cairo, 18C in Alexandria, 19C in Qena, 20C in Luxor, and 21C in Aswan.
Winter has already begun, and wind will be noticeably active in the coming period during which people will feel the coldness of weather. Coastal provinces in particular will see heavy rains, said the Chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority Ahmed Abdelaal.
He added that he expects a harsh winter.
Abdelaal pointed out that humidity will remain high, causing mist throughout winter.
