Cold weather expected for Friday, growing unstable Saturday

Meteorologists predict cold weather on the northern coasts and moderate weather across Lower Egypt and Cairo on Friday. However, unstable weather is expected for the entire country from February 23-28.

During an interview with the TV channel MBC on Wednesday, Chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority Ahmed Abdel Aal warned of mist, which would affect visibility during the early mornings starting from Saturday, and he urged people to wear heavy clothes at night.

Friday’s weather is expected to be warm across Upper Egypt during the day, growing very cold at night throughout the entire country.

The maximum temperatures expected for the following cities are 19C in Cairo, 18C in Alexandria, 22C in Qena, 25C in Luxor and 24C in Aswan.

Mist will affect visibility through the northern parts of the country and northern Upper Egypt and is expected to grow heavier in some parts.

Low and medium-level clouds will cover the north of the country, accompanied by rains in the country’s northern parts and Lower Egypt.

Winds will be northwesterly and moderate, growing active on the Red Sea and disturbing maritime navigation there.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will be very light to moderate and range between 1 to 1.5 meters in height, while waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to rough and range between 2 to 2.5 meters in height. Surface winds will be northwesterly on both seas.
