Cold, rainy, unstable weather across Egypt on Monday: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of continued weather instability in the north of the country on Monday.

Rainy cumulus clouds are now appearing in eastern Alexandria, northern Beheira, northern Kafr el-Sheikh and Damietta, accompanied by rain of varying intensity.

Light rain may fall in areas of southern Lower Egypt and the Suez Canal cities, possibly extending to parts of Greater Cairo at intermittent intervals.

The EMA warned of heavy fog on highways and agricultural roads, with winds reaching 24 km per hour.

Important advice during a thunderstorm:

The EMA advised citizens not to touch any windows, doors and metals that conduct electricity during a thunderstorm.

It also warned not to stand under trees or billboards due to the possibility of downdraft winds from thunderclouds.

The authority also urged people not to look at lightning or photograph it using mobile phones.
