Cold front hits Egypt as temperatures decline into next week

The head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s forecast centre Mahmoud Shahin said on Wednesday that moderate weather and colder temperatures are expected to prevail across the country starting on Friday.

Shahin clarified during an interview with the Sabah al-Balad program on Sada al-Balad TV Channel that temperatures should reach 30C on Thursday only to drop to 26C on Friday.

Shahin added that temperatures will continue to decline through the middle of next week, with temperatures predicted to drop to 19C at night.

While he noted that Egypt should see calm winds and maritime navigation, Shahin warned that heavy rainfall is expected in the Sinai Peninsula and along the Red Sea mountains.

Heavy mist is expected to impact regions across the country, with Shahin cautioning drivers along agricultural and desert roads to remain vigilant.
