Violent clashes occurred on Sunday between pro-Muslim Brotherhood students and the Falcon security personnel at the Cairo University campus. The students chanted slogans against the authorities, the police, the military and the university administration, while throwing rocks and raising Rabaa signs.
Parts of the metal detector gates were destroyed during clashes.
According to Al-Qahera (Cairo) news portal, Students Against the Coup movement had called for university protests under the slogan "We Can," to denounce the practices of the security companies on campuses.
One of the protesters said a student was arrested on Sunday morning. Riot police were stationed near the university's gate to intervene in case the situation escalated further.
