A person has been killed on Tuesday as he threw himself on the railways of the metro in front of the coming train at the Gamal Abdel Nasser stop.
Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels Spkesperson Ahmed Abdel Hady said in a statement that the deceased man was Mohamed Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, 45, who lived in the neighborhood of Zahraa Ain Shams.
The train traffic was halted for around ten minutes until the body parts scattered on the railway were collected.
Police report was filed. Prosecution conducted investigations.
In December, 23-year old Central Security Forces soldier committed suicide by throwing himself under the metro wheels at Al-Shohada stop, metro official source said. In June, another citizen committed suicide the same way at Qobba metro station.
