Church source calls Nasrallah comments on Israel ‘interference’ in Coptic affairs

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah "interfered in the affairs of Egyptian Coptic Christians" when he stated that Israel was attempting to incite sectarian strife between Christians and Muslims in Egypt and between Sunni and Shia Muslims in Iraq, according to a Coptic Church source.

Cairo University comparative jurisprudence professor Mohamed Raafat Othman, for his part, also saw Nasrallah’s remarks as an example of undue interference. “He speaks for himself,” Othman said.

Nasrallah also stated that Hezbollah, along with Palestinian resistance faction Hamas, was working to thwart Israeli plans for the region, asserting that Israel wanted stalled Middle East peace talks to fail.
