Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang honored two Egyptian children for winning the “Junior Cultural Ambassador” to China title, according to a press release by the Chinese embassy in Cairo on Tuesday.
The ambassador awarded the two children, who skillfully created the content of the video that won the contest; featuring Chinese paper cutting art, lanterns, fashion design, handicrafts, in addition to traditional skills and non-material cultural heritage, thus reflecting their love for the Chinese culture and art through an innovative and open-minded perspective which made their distinguished work outshine that of their competitors from 41 countries.
Meantime, he highlighted the continued cultural exchanges between Egypt and China over the past period, saying it would further increase within the coming stage.
The ambassador also expressed hope the young generation can play an active role in promoting cultural exchanges and enriching the civilizations of both China and Egypt.
The China Soong Ching Ling Foundation launched its “Junior Cultural Ambassador” event as part of its efforts to foster cultural exchanges between young people from China and other countries.
Entry works in the competition attracted million views from media platforms worldwide.
