A six-year-old girl was wounded Sunday morning as an IED went off near a court in Port Said, the province’s security department chief said.
The bomb had been placed under a phone box next to an under-construction building within the court’s vicinity, said Faisal Duweidar, Port Said’s security chief.
The girl sustained an injury to the head but is in generally good condition, Duweidar said.
Egypt has witnessed a series of bombings since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Authorities blame Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood for masterminding the explosions.
