The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Monday decided to suspend work on Wednesday, July 1 and Thursday, July 2 at government banks whose fiscal year ends on June 30.
Those banks will resume work on Sunday, July 5.
Banks whose fiscal year budget ends on December 31, meanwhile, will close on July 2, and will resume work on Sunday, July 5.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly granted public and private sector workers a day off on July 2 in celebration of the seventh anniversary of the June 30, 2013 protests that led to the ouster of then-president Mohamed Morsi.
