Average weekly wages reached LE806 in 2014 for workers of public, business and private sectors, compared to LE761 in 2013, marking a 5.9 increase, according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
In its annual bulletin on wages and working hours, CAPMAS said that wages of workers of the public and business sectors increased from LE964 in 2013 up to LE1026 in 2014, while wages of workers of the private sector reached LE506 in 2014 from LE439 in 2013.
Brokerage and security workers has the highest average of weekly wages reaching LE2403. Average weekly wages of telecommunications workers reached LE1515, then transferring and storage reaching LE1063, then mining LE943, then drainage networks and waste management reaching LE843, then construction reaching LE696. The lowest sector was education with weekly average wages at LE362.
Average number of weekly working hours reached 53 hours for workers of public and business sectors, compared to 60 hours as the average working hours of private sector workers.
