CAPMAS: Annual inflation rate declines to 23.4 percent in December

Egypt’s annual inflation rate declined to 23.4 percent in December 2024 against 25 percent in November, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported on Thursday.

CAPMAS said in a statement that the overall consumer price index for the whole country reached 239.7 points in December 2024, reflecting an annual inflation rate of 23.4 percent.
The agency attributed the decline to the decrease in prices of vegetables by 14 percent, meat and poultry by 0.1 percent, fish and seafood by 0.6 percent as well as dairy products, cheese, and eggs by 0.7 percent.
