Calm has prevailed in Suez governorate following violent confrontations that erupted between supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsy and the residents following murder of one person during the clashes on Wednesday.
The clashes erupted after a Muslim Brotherhood marched passed on Al-Geish Street. Wrangles were started up between the residents, store owners and pro-Morsy protesters. They rejected chants against military. Clashes then broke out. The two groups hurled stones at each other and gun shots were heard.
Suez Public Hospital Chief Abdel Moneim Salem said the person killed was identified as Abdullah Mohamed, 16, who was shot in the head. He was transferred to the morgue.
