Calm at Al-Azhar University after Wednesday clashes

The first semester exams at the Azhar University on Thursday were conducted amidst a state of calm in the university campus and dorms. No protests occurred. 
 
This comes after a day of clashes between security forces and Pro-Mohamed Morsy students.
 
Both the girls and boys campuses are holding exams on Thursday in many colleges durng the morning and evening periods.
 
Police raided a student dorm building and its cafeteria on Wednesday leading to clashes between the forces and the students. 
 
The forces then arrested dozens of students.
 
Osama Abdel Motaal, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for boys, put four students on a one-year suspension and finally expelled a student for what he described as “inciting violence and striking during exams.”
 

Clashes between police and students have escalated in recent weeks. A number of students have been killed and injured in the violence.
