Cairo University central library receives ISO degree

The Central Library at Cairo University has earned the ISO degree, becoming the first university library in Egypt and the Middle East to receive such a degree, according to library director Professor Amany Refaat.

The creditation comes from the ISO 9001/2008 committee which sets out the criteria for a quality management system.

The new library is one of the strongest academic libraries in the Middle East, Refaat said, adding that it offers the best services through the use of the latest technology.

Library staff seek to improve the library's performance and raise the level of services for students and researchers in various educational fields, Refaat added, pointing out that the library is also contributing to awareness and cultural programs.
