The President of the Cairo Court of Appeal and a member of the Supreme Judicial Council, Mohamed Nasr, has scheduled a session on Saturday to consider a request by defendant ‘Karim S.’, known as the ‘Talaat Haroun Serial Killer‘, to dismiss the Cairo Criminal Court panel that is hearing his case.

He is accused of murdering three women and disposing in desert roads in the governorates of Cairo, Ismailia, and Port Said.

The Cairo Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Yasser al-Ahmadawi, has decided to suspend the proceedings pending a ruling on the request submitted by the defendant’s defense to dismiss the court panel.

The Public Prosecution had charged the defendant with murdering three women after torturing them in a soundproof room that the defendant had specially designed for this purpose, and disposing of their bodies in the deserts of Port Said and Ismailia.

He was also charged with possessing various types of drugs and forcing his victims to consume them.

Additionally, he was charged with human trafficking by exploiting the victims through prostitution and filming them.

The Public Prosecution announced on May 28 the details of the crimes of the ‘Talaat Haroun Serial Killer’.

On May 16, the prosecution received a notification about the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman on the 30th of June Road in Port Said Governorate.

The prosecution immediately issued a decision to examine fingerprints and take forensic photographs of the victim’s body in order to identify her.
