Cairo Opera House screens Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo for free

The Cairo Opera House will screen the Egyptian drama film “Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo” (2024) as part of the Opera Cinema Club’s activities at the Small Theater on Wednesday, April 30 at seven pm.

The screening will be followed by a meeting with some of the film’s creators, moderated by critic Marwan Amara.

Attendance is free until seats are full.

“Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo” stars Essam Omar, Reem Saad, Sama Ibrahim, Ahmed Bahaa, and the Rambo brothers. Guest stars include Basma, Yousra el-Lozy, and Hassan el-Adl. It is directed and written by Khaled Mansour, with Mohamed al-Hosseiny co-writing.

The film follows Hassan and his dog, Rambo, who embark on a mission to find a safe place for Rambo after he attacks Karem, who owns the house where Hassan lives, and vows revenge on the dog.

During his journey in Cairo to find a safe haven for Rambo, Hassan is forced to confront his fears and past, ultimately rediscovering himself.

This film marks director Mansour’s feature-length debut, following his success with several acclaimed short films screened at international and regional festivals.
