Cairo ranked first as the best ecosystem in the Middle East and the North Africa region, according to the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) 2021.
The report stated that Cairo ranked second in the knowledge ecosystem in the Middle East and North Africa, as this indicator measures creativity through research activity and patents. It also ranked third for ecosystems in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of both the funding climate, and the efficiency of skills, experience and performance
It ranked among the top five ecosystems in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of value for money.
According to the report, Cairo ranked first in Africa in strategies to attract foreign direct investment, according to the “African Tech Ecosystems of the Future” issued by FDI Intelligence, affiliated to the Financial Times.
Egypt has also maintained its position as a leading global destination in the field of information technology services, outsourcing and cross-border services.
Egypt ranked first in the Middle East and Africa, and 15th in the world in the “Global Services Location Index”, issued by Kearney every two years to help companies make key location decisions about where to locate offshore operations.
