The Ministry of Culture announced the program agenda for the 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Culture Nevine al-Kilani on Wednesday.
“We create knowledge, we preserve the word” is this year’s slogan for the event.
Running from January 25 to February 6, this year’s book fair is organized by the Egyptian General Authority for Books, headed by Ahmed Bahi Eddin, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo with Norway as the guest of honor.
The Minister of Culture said that the cultural program of this year’s fair brings together cultural figures, artists, and specialists from Egypt and the world during cultural seminars and conferences being held for the first time at the fair.
She added that the high committee of the fair has taken into account the diversity and cultural and artistic multiplicity in the program of this year’s events.
The fair introduced the “One-Day Conference” this year, which includes six conferences featuring the participation of several Egyptian and Arab institutions.
These include “Artificial Intelligence Techniques” in cooperation with the Egyptian Informatics University, and the “Translation from Arabic-Bridge of Civilization” with the participation of the Ministries of Culture and Endowments.
It also includes the “Intellectual Property.. Protecting Creativity in the New Republic” conference, and the “Taha Hussein” conference, and the “Nazek al-Malaika” conference.
The exhibition also witnesses the celebration of the 200th edition of the “Vision” series, in cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments, titled “A New Vision for Religious Discourse in Egypt”.
