The Cairo Airport Company said that it has carried out the necessary studies to establish Terminal Four at the Cairo International Airport, in an effort to reduce density within the remaining three terminals of the airport.
The chairman of the company Ahmed Fawzy said that this step comes as the Cairo Airport nears 75 percent of its current capacity, and according to the instructions of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority.
Fawzy added that the company has started implementing certain projects to upgrade the Cairo International Airport’s efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to passengers, keeping in pace with increases in the airport’s targeted capacity.
Among these projects are the development of Terminal One, and the modernization of an integrated system for baggage handling, achieving the highest levels of security.
The Cairo Airport Company aims to raise the annual total capacity of passengers at the airport to reach 30 million passengers annually, as part of a plan to raise airport efficacy.
