Cairo-Alexandria trains to resume on Tuesday

Security and railway authorities on Sunday agreed to gradually resume train service between Cairo and Alexandria starting Tuesday. Upper Egypt trains are scheduled to resume service after the end of the first session of ousted President Mohamed Morsy's trial in early November.

Official sources from the railway authority told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Sunday that it was agreed that five, instead of seven, trains will run between Cairo and Alexandria in addition to the train line from Cairo to Benha. The level of security preparedness has been heightened at the main train stations in Lower Egypt.

The same sources said that Upper Egypt trains will only run after the end of the first session of Morsy's trial scheduled for 4 November.
