Cairo General Traffic Department announced a ten-day closure of part of the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road for development and expansion work.
Egypt’s Interior Ministry said on Wednesday: “The road development work requires the closure of the 84-kilo rotation bridge coming from Alexandria for a period of 10 days, starting at 8 am on Wednesday, provided that the alternative to the aforementioned return bridge is al-Khatatba Bridge (1.5 km away).”
The statement confirmed that the General Traffic Department will coordinate to provide alternative routes to alleviate congestion, as well as ensure that proper signage is displayed in all work areas.
