Cairo Airport breaks record with 97,000 passengers in 24 hours

Cairo International Airport experienced its busiest day ever on Thursday, since its opening on March 18, 1963.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Cairo Airport handled 667 departure and arrival flights, carrying a total of 97,000 passengers.

The daily schedule included the arrival of 47,700 passengers on 327 flights from various international and domestic destinations.

Meanwhile, over 85,294 passengers departed on 593 flights throughout the 24-hour period to numerous destinations.

The airport received 294 flights carrying 43,424 passengers.

Conversely, 49,200 passengers departed on 340 flights to diverse international and domestic destinations, including the United States, France, Germany, Greece, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, and numerous African and Asian destinations.
