Cabinet’s information center files report over suspicions of public money embezzlement

Public prosecutor and administrative prosecution authority chief received a report from cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) leading judicial sources to suspect embezzlement of public funds.

IDSC has called for investigations to look into the claims in the report, which point to cheques, estimated at LE5.5 million, signed by the center’s technical and financial affairs officials that were disbursed without permission.

The report, received by public and administrative prosecutions on 1 December, states that once the suspected cheques were found, a committee was formed on 20 November to revise the accounts and documents of the center.
