Cabinet approves prison sentence, fine for not reporting presence of explosives

During a meeting led by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb on Wednesday, the Cabinet approved a Penal Code amendment, criminalizing the act of abstaining from reporting the presence of bombs or dangerous substances.
 
The new text stipulates a prison sentence of at least one year and a fine ranging between LE20,000 and LE 100,000 for whoever fails to report the presence or possession of explosives that could endanger lives or property.
