Egyptian Businessmen Association (EBA) will hold in February a conference on supporting energy in Egypt in collaboration with Ahram to be entitled “Future of Energy in Egypt: Vision and Effective Solutions.”
In a statement, EBA said the conference will tackle the main points related to energy like experiences, researches, development, urgent solutions and role played by financial institutions in funding and investing. It will also mull government’s role in adopting legislations to motivate investment in field of energy.
Ministers of petroleum, energy, investment, industry and environment will take part along with heads of several business organizations, Arab and foreign ambassadors in Cairo and Egyptian and foreign experts, the statement added.
Bassim Youssef, chairman of Encorp, said the first workshop of the conference will tackle electricity generation, renewable energy, rationalization of energy and energy-saving lamps. International experts will then hold discussions before recommendations are made. Ministers of electricity, petroleum, Arab Organization for Industrialization chief and some international experts will attend.
The second workshop will tackle financial institutions in funding at energy projects and legislations to motivate investment in the sector.
Mahmoud Fahmy, head of EBA’s legislations committee, said discussing the legislations on motivating investment will tackle several main issues like developing investment law, mechanism on settling conflicts before being submitted to judiciary, important laws on energy in Egypt and facilitating customs measures imposed on requirements of the sector.
