Bus tumbles from Cairo bridge, six injured

Six workers at the Public Transport Authority were injured as a bus fell off Cairo's 6th of October Bridge in Hadayak al-Qobba district.

The vehicle was carrying bus drivers to the agency's garage to start their morning shift, according to security sources.

The bus driver lost control of the steering wheel and hit the bridge's metal rails before the bus fell, they said.

They added that the bus was completely destroyed and the bridge rails suffered moderate damage. They noted that the damaged bus is currently being removed from the scene of the accident.

The injured were taken to Ahmed Maher and Hussein hospitals for treatment.
