Brotherhood marches dispersed in Cairo, others staged in Daqahlia

Security has dispersed marches by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and former president Mohamed Morsi in Matariya, east of Cairo, on Friday.

Two marches came out of two different mosques following Friday prayers before uniting to tour the streets of the district, chanting anti-police-and army slogans and hoisting posters of the ousted leader.

Demonstrators were met with tear gas fired by police, which prompted them to disperse.

Meanwhile, dozens protested Friday in Daqahlia to protest President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s recent visit to Germany. Protesters formed human chains and held up posters of Morsi.
