The Mansoura Criminal Court on Monday sentenced the brother of Salafi preacher Sheikh Mohamed Hassan and two others to three years in prison for forging official papers and documents related to private car ownership.
The case dates back to July 2007 when Wahba Ibrahim Hassan, a car dealer, Metwally Mohamed Ibrahim, a driver, and Wafik Lotfy Abdou, were sent to trial.
The prosecution accused the defendants of assisting an unknown person in the forging of car license papers and a personal identification card with which they sold the car.
Investigations into the case by the Public Funds Investigation Bureau resulted in conviction.
